Current implementations of Augmented Reality are focused around informational content delivery allowing its users to seamlessly reach business and entertainment information. However in not so distant future Augmented Reality interfaces will be the main method of interaction with our computerised mobile devices. Polidea is very ambitious about bringing the Augmented Reality paradigm to the next level of both product and technology innovation. We are currently developing different applications for industrial information delivery, in areas such as automotive or medical. The project is subsidized by the European Union funds within Operational Program for Innovative Economy.

Polidea also participates in a consortium of European mobile software companies (including Metaio, Mobilizy and Telefonica I+D) founded to create and test an Augmented Reality engine allowing further development of the first social network based on the AR principle. "CRUMBS - Crumbs, Places and Augmented reality in Social Networks" research project has passed Eureka Celtic program evaluation and has been officially awarded the Celtic cluster label. This decision allows project consortium members to finalize funding agreements with their national Eureka contact points and paves way for an official project kickoff in Q2 2010.
