Many software companies make a mistake of handling mobile development with the same project software engineering methods proven for traditional desktop or web applications. Mobile devices are however not the same as big iron – only shrunk. The pace of technology change (hardware architectures, programming languages, APIs), the number of different platforms, the complexity of solutions and finally uniqueness of user experience render traditional approach ineffective. Therefore we created our own agile methodology, which was evaluated and perfected by research team of Warsaw University of Technology. It combines UX oriented rapid prototyping with elements of various agile development strategies with novel testing model, accounting for diversity
of deployment devices. We use it as our preferred methodology, except where client requirements or more customary nature of the project justify going forward with a more traditional approach.
We believe that the right choice of a methodology and an approach to the development process is the key to a successful delivery. The development of the same software product will be differently handled in a startup and in an enterprise. Therefore we choose our methods carefully, and develop our own ways.

The agile software development methodology. An important ingredient of our own Polidea Way, sometimes also used directly for smaller, simpler projects.

One of the implementations of Just-In-Time production approach, especially well adaptable to software engineering. We use it to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in our development and testing pipeline.

Classic process driven project management methodologies. While we usually prefer reactive, agile methodologies, such as Polidea Way, we sometimes implement PMI either at client’s request or for very large, corporate projects. Some of our managers have PRINCE2 certification and/or PMP.
